I was recently asked to contribute to a Wedding Trends article on my predictions for the next twelve months, with regards to wedding flowers. And one of the trends that I highlighted was the growing popularity of bridal bouquets with trailing ribbons. So, today I thought I’d share some beautiful examples with you.
Ribbons of varying widths and colours are being used to adorn bouquets. Some brides are opting for multiple strands of the same ribbon, whilst others have a variety of different types in complementary colours.
Aren’t all the designs just so stunning? If you’re a bride-to-be, I hope today’s blog post has given you lots of inspiration.
And if you’re a florist, plant dyed silk ribbon, in particular, is proving to be very popular with brides. Suppliers include Silk & Willow in the US, Lancaster & Cornish and New Mains Smallholding in the UK, and Frou Frou Chic in France.
P.S. Here’s a link to the full Wedding Trends 2015 article on the Amara website.

They’re all absolutely beautiful! The 1st one is my favourite.
Thank you Kristina. 🙂
I just love coloured ribbons on bouquets, I really hope we see more of them.
Me too, Nicola. 🙂
Stunning! I was asked to make a bouquet for a friend of a friend last year, nervously I did it and I must say, not being a florist at all, I was thrilled with the end result. What I’m coming to though is that she wanted to tie long flowing ribbons from it and they looked great, it was a pretty and subtle way of incorporating her grooms football team colour in too! Luckily it was Man City and was pale blue. Her other colours were each of her bridesmaids who all wore a different coloured dress. If I could post a picture I would because it all looked very pretty, even though I say so myself. I’ll probably never get the chance to make a brides bouquet ever again, it was a real privilege.
Thank you Jo! Your bouquet sound lovely. Please feel free to post an image in the Flowerona for Florists Facebook page. 🙂 x
