A very warm welcome to my brand new website! Today is Flowerona’s 8th birthday and to celebrate I’m relaunching with a beautiful new look and feel. I’m so happy with finished result and I hope you like it too…
When you take a look around the site, you’ll notice several enhancements, which have been added to help make it easier for you to find the content you’re looking for more easily.
There are five brand new categories for the blog post content, which you’ll see at the top and bottom of the website:

Updated & New Pages
I’m often contacted by people asking for recommendations and general questions about floristry, so I’ve updated the Frequently Asked Questions page and also added a new page, Flowerona Recommendations.
So, what was the trigger for this website relaunch? Well, back in October, I was in just a bit of a tizz (slight understatement!) My WordPress website had run into trouble and I was considering having to move to SquareSpace. I did try out the Squarespace platform, but it was a whole new learning curve for me and I found it very time-consuming setting up a new template from scratch.
Then WordPress Expert Kelly Sparkes stepped in and completely saved the day! She reassured me that I could remain on WordPress (which I was familiar with, having used it for the last eight years), that she could sort out all the issues behind the scenes and transfer over my 2,000 blog posts for me. Not only that but she could sort out my hosting and recommend a suite of WordPress templates, which I could choose from as the foundation for the new Flowerona. Plus she could take the branding which Sara from Salted Ink created for me and incorporate it into the new site. I can’t tell you how relieved I was that I had Kelly on side!
It’s been such a pleasure working with her over the last few weeks and absolutely nothing is too much trouble. Everything is possible, as with over 17 years of programming experience, Kelly always finds a solution.
I’ll also be enrolling for Kelly’s new online course, Kickstart your WordPress Website, so that I can learn more about the back-end of my WordPress site and take more control of it moving forward. I can’t wait!
So, yes, things were a little traumatic when my website was down in October, but I tried to be philosophical about it. I’ve known for the last year or so that it needed a revamp. And I’m a great believer in ‘things are meant to be’. So, even though I’ve got a lot on my plate at the moment and have had to work some crazy hours to make it come together today, in retrospect I’m glad that this little hiccup happened.
I really hope you love the new look and feel as much as I do. Do take a tour and let me know what you think…
